Value area
Also known as: VA, VAH, VAL
The value area is the price range containing roughly 70% of a session's traded volume, bounded by the Value Area High (VAH) and Value Area Low (VAL).
It marks where the market accepted price and did most of its business. Trading the edges (acceptance vs rejection) and breakouts from the value area is a core Market Profile technique. It is derived directly from the volume profile.
