Liquidity sweep

Also known as: stop hunt, liquidity grab, stop run

A liquidity sweep is a quick spike through an obvious high or low that triggers resting stop orders before price reverses.

Also called a stop hunt or liquidity grab, the move wicks through a level to take the liquidity there, then closes back inside, signalling a grab rather than a real breakout. Traders look to enter in the reversal direction, often with order-block or FVG confluence.
