Momentum
Also known as: price momentum
Momentum is the rate of change of price, how strongly and quickly it is moving in a direction.
Momentum indicators (RSI, MACD, stochastic, rate of change) help judge whether a move is accelerating or fading. Trading with momentum favours continuation; fading extremes favours reversal. Weakening momentum often precedes a turn.
