Paper Trading & Algos
Deploy a saved strategy as an algo in paper mode and watch it trade on real live market data, with simulated fills and no real orders. It is the fastest way to forward-test a strategy before anything touches real money.
Deploy an Algo
From the Algos page, deploy a saved strategy as an algo in paper mode. You choose the strategy, the symbol (for example BTC/USDT), the timeframe, the exchange, and the starting capital. The algo then runs that exact strategy against the live market.
Backtest-Identical Engine
Paper trading uses real live market data and evaluates on closed bars, identical to the backtest engine. The two are parity-tested, so a paper algo reasons exactly the way its backtest did.
Closed-Bar EvaluationSimulated Fills
Fills are simulated. No real orders are sent and no exchange keys are used to trade. You get the behaviour of the strategy on live data without any execution risk.
No Real OrdersControls
Each algo exposes three controls. Pause and Resume are reversible; Stop is final.
Pause
Temporarily halt a running algo without losing its state.
Resume
Continue a paused algo from where it left off.
Stop
End the algo for good. There is no restart: redeploy the strategy to run it again.
What You Monitor
Per algo you can see its status, open positions, win rate, trade count, and closed profit and loss. These stats are real. They show a placeholder until the engine produces its first update, then fill in as the algo works.
Live Performance
Status, open positions, win rate, trade count, and closed profit and loss, updated as the engine processes closed bars.
Real StatsAlways-On Execution
Algos run on a durable, always-on execution engine rather than per-request, so they keep running in the background. The lifecycle moves through armed, running, paused, and stopped.
Durable EngineRun Locally with the Desktop App
The desktop app can run paper algos locally on your own machine. It is available on Windows today, with macOS and Linux coming.
Limits
You can keep up to 100 saved algos. Graph size limits also apply to the strategies you deploy.
