Oscillators nodes
20 Oscillators building blocks in the Algovex node library. Each is a node you can drop on the visual canvas, connect into a strategy, backtest and export. No code required.
Accelerator Oscillator
AC = AO - SMA(AO) measures rate of change of AO.
Awesome Oscillator
Bill Williams' Awesome Oscillator — difference between 5-period and 34-period SMA of bar midpoints. Measures medium-term momentum relative to longer-term momentum. Use zero-line crosses for trend direction, saucer setups for continuation entries, and twin peaks for reversal signals.
CCI
Commodity Channel Index — measures deviation of price from its statistical mean. Identifies cyclical trends.
Chaikin Oscillator
EMA difference of Accumulation/Distribution Line.
CMO
Chande Momentum Oscillator — measures momentum on a -100 to +100 scale by comparing sum of gains to sum of losses over a period.
Connors RSI
Connors RSI — composite momentum oscillator combining RSI, streak RSI, and percent rank of rate-of-change. Ranges 0-100.
Elder Force Index
EMA-smoothed force index using price change and volume.
Elder Ray
Dr. Alexander Elder's Bull/Bear Power indicator — measures the strength of bulls and bears relative to an EMA baseline.
MACD
Moving Average Convergence Divergence — trend-following momentum indicator showing relationship between two EMAs.
Money Flow Index
Volume-weighted RSI ranging 0-100. Above the overbought level (default 80) flags strong buying with volume; below the oversold level (default 20) flags strong selling. The 50 centerline separates inflow from outflow.
PPO
Percentage Price Oscillator expressing MACD as a percentage of the slow EMA, making it comparable across different price levels and instruments. Use like MACD but when comparing momentum strength across multiple assets or timeframes.
Relative Vigor Index
Measures the conviction of a price move by comparing close-open range to high-low range. Signal line uses symmetric weighted average. Crossovers signal momentum shifts.
ROC / Momentum
Rate of Change / Momentum — measures price change over N periods. Percent mode = ((close-close[N])/close[N])*100 (ROC). Absolute mode = close-close[N] (raw Momentum). Use as momentum filter to confirm trend strength or detect zero-line crossover divergences.
RSI
Relative Strength Index — Wilder's momentum oscillator measuring speed and magnitude of price changes. Ranges 0-100.
Schaff Trend Cycle
Schaff Trend Cycle (STC) — combines MACD with double stochastic smoothing for faster trend detection. Ranges 0-100.
Stochastic
Stochastic Oscillator — compares close to price range over N periods. %K and %D lines identify overbought/oversold.
Stochastic RSI
Applies the Stochastic formula to RSI values for extra sensitivity to momentum shifts. Ranges 0-100 with faster crossover signals than standard RSI. Use as an entry trigger when Stoch RSI crosses above 20 (bullish) or below 80 (bearish), especially in trending markets where regular RSI is too slow.
TRIX
Triple-smoothed EMA rate of change that filters out minor price noise and highlights significant trend moves. Zero-line crossovers signal trend direction changes. Use as a slow trend filter to confirm whether a move has real momentum or is just noise.
Ultimate Oscillator
Larry Williams' Ultimate Oscillator combining three timeframe periods (7, 14, 28 by default) into a single weighted reading. Reduces false divergences that plague single-period oscillators. Use for divergence-based reversal signals with higher reliability than standard RSI or Stochastic.
Williams %R
Larry Williams' %R momentum oscillator, mathematically the inverse of Fast Stochastic, ranging from -100 to 0. Above -20 signals overbought; below -80 signals oversold. Use as an entry timing filter for mean-reversion setups or to confirm momentum extremes before reversal trades.
